Richard Pape first studied photography under Aaron Siskind at the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he received his Masters Degree. The Institute of Design was influenced by Moholy-Nagy and the Bauhaus, which was a nice compliment to his fine arts background.

He has spent his professional life designing and working on animated films, interactive software, print projects and photography.

For over 20 years Richard worked for School Zone Publishing as Art Director for print and as Creative Director for School Zone Interactive. He was integral to the design and illustration of their flagship "Get Ready" series of workbooks, the award winning "Start to Read" series, flashcards, games and all of their award winning interactive product line.

He is now working full time on his photography, illustration and design.
